Once a saturation point has been reached in your market or industry (this means your industry should have been at least 20 to 30 years old in development, unless it has a unique ability to remodel, reinvent and innovate and morph successfully), new ideas, strategies and solutions will be required. One classic business strategy is Build/Borrow/BUY, to extend the previous stage (maturation) before entering the decline stage.


Now, however lets do a simple review first, of where we have come from!

(HINT: can you add for each row for 21st Century 2nd quarter onwards, it would be AI digital hand, The Platform Augmentation, and so on)...


If you are vigorously applying Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) with Best Practice Standards, with an open mind for new "Intel", there will new sparks of ideas, to strategies to solutions.Then with strategic applications pathways (like Tree Branches, or Evolution of homo species, branching off to sub differentiated species) within pathways keep splitting and pivoting, until one or more bears fruit.


From our Course and New book, some Macro Trends to profit from, and here's a few to start to look for with

Global trends that will last for at least another economic cycle (10-12) years:

-       GDP/GNP growth rates,

-       Generational band width interactions, e.g. Baby boomers to Generation X transfer wealth, and their foundational core needs (use Maslow’s 7 hierarchical model),

-       Gender trends, e.g. declining marriage rates, increase in short term relationships, i.e. population becoming more “self-identity” focus than community or family focus,

-       The “ME” Vs “WE” Economy and its over extension,

-       Declining birth rates, so more time for hobbies and pleasure activities,

-       The continual rise of the middle class, and use of electric energy (electrification),

-       India, Asia, and Africa rise of middle class next due to transference of educational access, i.e. a global marketplace (I have lectured to International University students and their stories are fascinating),

- Women spending significantly more than Men on "consumer goods" and individual items, thus having high tendency to spend on self (clothes, makeup, trips etc),

-       Women becoming more independent and no longer “needing” (dependent) relationships with men for financial source, due to economic success. Thus developing the independent self further from dependency.


NB: (the stages of development being co-dependent, to dependent, to independent, to intra-dependent (working within a ecosystem, using its resources for group or individual outcomes) to interdependent.


So there are opportunities for new markets where Social, Financial and Technological forces meet with Global and Local change.
