You now have your Culture and Leadership plan and statement well fleshed out....And your knowledge bank is quite considerable, as going through the process unearths old, new and unknown gifts and abilities you may not have known you had...(A Gift of the Process)...this is why the saying..


"The Harder I work, the Luckier I become"....is a Truism (because you dig deep internally and externally..unearthing GOLD that you didn't know and realise was there!)

Now, a list of viable candidates from inhouse, networking, associates (not in the company) should always be on a "back up" future development leadership list!...(You could just dot down names on the back of your culture/leadership plan)...


Or, more professionally create a matrix spreadsheet.....One my favourite things to do, over coffee on a sunday in a cafe with my laptop, is to always start with a Matrix and watch how it unfolds (see above Truism).


Remember factors both tangibles and intangibles (what you need,want, require and desire)....of both character and competence...then cultural fit.


Then you have your list, with your plans for the next 1-3-5 years, break it down to simple projects....and start using your right brain (creativity, inventiveness and imagination, we have just been using left brain with Matrix formulations), both visualising, contemplating and feeling your way through who is best fit!....Both short and Long Term...


There should be a click, light bulb as you do the "The General's Method" (a structured process explained in detail in our book, "The Genius Entrepreneur"-Sales Edition).


Strategic and Tactical resource allocation is required.


Funny Story:


I started playing chess when i was 6-7 years old, and was 2nd best player in high school at 14, everyone else was 16/17 and we were playing interstate, however I got bored quickly, so I focused on Sports (Soccer!).


I was doing some coaching for one of the best counselling firms for the state, and I was playing chess with the founder and owner (it was her request!....strange but true!), and I was interlacing principles, strategies and tactics as we played via the chess for her business, staff and clients.


Her will and power and competitive nature was considerable, but in a thinking and strategic game, bullying through doesn't work. Being strategic, defensive and offensive with baits gives you the chance to win both short and long term!


Hint: You want to be playing 3/4 D chess, while everyone else in your industry and competitors are playing

 chess and checkers!
