Step 1/ Now that you have gathered "Internal Intelligence" (See Part 1, click below)


Part 1:


We want to make sure the culture is now clean, willing and able for your new BOS (Blue Ocean Strategy) and BPS (Best Practice Standards) applications.


By now you should have a summary 1 page sheet for your business analysis summary (BAS) that is an appendix within your business plan, so you can flip back and forward to make sure your assessment with your evaluation and plan are in accordance with your BAS (business analysis summary, like a cheat sheet overview), which includes your evaluation of your culture and leadership and its alignment.


If not, just dot points of interest at the back of your business plan, of areas you want to improve in your leadership and culture plan (again, this can be just a 1 page summary with dot points and begin from there!).


However, clean up your culture First, for fast productivity gains!.....(At STAR we do "In house workshops"for culture and Leadership development, improvement and growth).


Following on from Part 1 (See above):


Step 2: The Proposition and proposal to staff:


- Keep the strategy simple, and make sure you address their concerns first,

- Create a Culture statement and kaizen approach if you haven’t already,

- You must at least address concerns (internal and external, macro, industry etc as discussed last blog) and have simple strategies/solutions,

- Slowly raise the “Band width” of thinking, attitude, mentality of the culture in sales, otherwise you may lose key staff with unique expertise (i.e. one of your older executive staff members, who resist change or improvement),

- Assign a task force or a leader for the new “BOS-BPS” for metrics and accountability, and its best if they were involved in the process of creation,


(HINT: Have your most experienced and best older employee with your youngest best & brightest "TEAM UP")


- Make adjustments if “push back” or feedback requires....


Create a formulation table for metrics and results....(we have it our book we just published!).. (STEP 3 coming)


I remember one of my first companies best hires, a young lady in her mid twenties, very enthusiastic, smart-sharp, tech IQ, industrious-conscientious, learns quickly and integrates well with great culture fit. I kept giving her more and more tasks (to find her limits, "test the limits" concept).


And, she kept taking more and more on! (Shout out to Leah!)...


So I had to rethink and giver her bigger and longer projects that would take 3-6-12 months, than micro projects (over and above her daily requirements)!...Until she hit her limit, then I stopped and let her integrate, develop, improve and grow!...


And naturally worked out her "Running Rate" for 80% of her capacity, which was around a new project once a quarter!...This kept her engaged, enthusiastic and learning within the positive "Upward Spiral of Personal and Career growth"...


I would always say to her..."Here's your next challenge...I'm here if you need help"...(NOT YOUR next project!)!, explain internal and external rationale, objectives-metrics and so on...(great depth helps, as it givers her a "pump", multiple reasons to draw on for energy)


She always received bonus's that made her smile!...Again,


"Culture is your Firepower!..which creates productivity evolutionary Leaps! for SALES!"...
